Homemade Chocolate Bath Salts Recipe!

There is a homemade bath salts recipe that I think will fool others into craving sweets and chocolate. It is a chocolate-scented bath salts recipe! Not only will this type of bath smell rather yummy, you may also accidentally think that you can eat the salts. But, you have to remind yourself as well as everybody else, that this is still basically an Epsom salt bath. So, do not eat the contents of that jar!

A benefit to making this homemade bath salts recipe is that the health-conscious who cannot eat chocolate can instead bathe in the scents, all the while improving heart circulation and removing toxins. Already, it sounds like a win-win situation, except if the bath makes you want to eat chocolate that badly. *wink*

Here is what you will need to make these homemade bath salts:
homemade bath salts, bath salts recipe, epsom salt bath
2 Cups of Epsom Salt
1 Cup of Sea Salt
1/2 Teaspoon of Glycerin
A bottle of Chocolate Essence/Fragrance Oil
Brown Food Coloring (optional)

You can purchase a bottle of regular milk or dark chocolate fragrance oil from any aromatherapy shoppe. They can range from $4 to $10 for a 0.5 oz bottle. If you find any better deals, please let me know!

Epsom Bath Salt and Sea Salt can be purchased at just about any convenience store. There are also many convenience stores that have websites where you can purchase from the comfort of your own home. I myself enjoy this particularly as I like to avoid traffic and the crowds of the other stay-at-home moms that seem to fill the stores at any given time of the day.

Jars can be purchased in bulk online, or you can walk into an arts and crafts store (like Michael's) to buy just a handful.

In order to combine all of the ingredients, you will need a large-sized bowl. Add the first two items in the bowl, and mix it all around. Then, add the Glycerin. The Glycerin is actually optional, but from my experience it adds a nice moisturizing effect for my skin. As for the Chocolate Essence/Fragrance Oil, start off with only 3 drops. Then, take a wonderful sniff and decide at that point if you want the fragrance to be stronger. The same goes for the brown food coloring. If the oil does not provide a deep enough of a tone, you can start off with 2-3 drops of the food coloring and mix again. Just remember, the color and the scent will be diluted when the homemade bath salts will be placed in the bath water, so give this bath salts recipe a try and see how wonderful it will be!
