Homemade Bath Salts

The major benefit of homemade bath salts is that they combine the wonderful aromatherapy fragrance of essential oils with the fantastic soothing effects of natural minerals. So, you can create an entire variety of bath salts recipe that pertain to whichever scent or effect you want to create for your (or your loved ones') bath experience.

If you are in a very giving mood, and you do not have enough existing recycled jars, you can always buy in bulk and the price of each jar would be much cheaper. I know I've ordered a few times from eBay. You can also buy the epsom salt bath in bulk along with sea salt.

Baking soda is also an essential bath salts recipe ingredient.

A festive gift would not be complete without decorative ribbons and strings. Be sure to get them in corresponding colors that match the color you want to make the homemade bath salts. As for coloring the salts, some colors will be easier than others to achieve. For example, an orange colored bath salt will require just a few drops of orange food coloring. However, lavendar will require a bit of mixing of red and blue food coloring. However many drops you add is totally up to you!

When adding the essential oils, you should start off with just a few drops (about 3-4), and gauge how fragrant you would like the bath salts recipe to be. Again, it is totally up to you. If you feel that the scent may be too strong, just keep in mind that both the color and the scent of the homemade bath salts will be diluted in the amazing bath that you and your loved ones will be enjoying!
